The law firm is the authorized recipient for correspondence and service of documents. Timo Fahlenbock operates this atlas and is responsible for its content. The firm provides no services through the atlas. Contact details and the recipient arrangement are published in the creator's legal notice (https://timo-fahlenbock.de/impressum).

Responsible for editorial content throughout this website: Timo Fahlenbock, at the address above. Provider information is supplied with reference to Section 5 DDG (https://www.gesetze-im-internet.de/ddg/__5.html) and Section 18(2) MStV (https://www.gesetze-bayern.de/Content/Document/MStV-18).

    Corrections and content

For a correction, see how corrections work (/corrections/). For a rights request or security report, use the email above. Include the page or record, the passage concerned and, for factual corrections, a supporting source. Please avoid sending unnecessary personal information.

The research and writing use AI assistance. There has been no independent human fact-check. Read the research method (methodology.md).

The atlas presents sourced public statements and editorial interpretations. It does not imply endorsement or affiliation. Read the evidence and qualifications (evidence.html) before drawing conclusions about a person or organization. Linked works retain their own terms.

    Privacy notice

Timo Fahlenbock, reachable at the address and contact details above, is the controller for this website. This notice covers the atlas, its optional saved settings and contact with its operator.

    At a glance

You can explore without an account. The atlas includes no advertising, analytics scripts, tracking pixels, embedded social feeds, external fonts, contact form or live model connection. Searches, comparisons and the demonstrations run in your browser. Your reading list is not uploaded to the operator.

These statements describe the atlas application. Delivery providers still process connection data when you request a page or file.

    Your device and shared links

Remembering is off initially. You may choose Remember on this device (index.html#device-settings) to store your filters, map display, appearance choice, optional personal marker, reading progress, saved ideas and comparison in your browser's local storage. The application uses the key ai-atlas-view-v1; no visitor identifier is created.

This optional storage uses your consent under Section 25(1) TDDDG (https://www.gesetze-im-internet.de/ttdsg/__25.html) and, where personal data is involved, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. The choice expires after 180 days. An expired saved copy is removed on the next visit or interaction; an unused browser may retain the bytes until then.

Turn remembering off to withdraw consent and erase the stored copy while keeping your current open view. You may also clear this site's data in your browser. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing. Without remembering, your changes last only while the page remains open; downloads and shared links remain available.

Shared links contain the selected view or reading list in the URL fragment after #. The fragment is not part of the HTTP request to the host, but anyone receiving the complete link can read it. Browser history and browser sync may also retain it. Share only what you intend others to see.

    Website delivery

Cloudflare hosts the atlas at theaiatlas.org and www.theaiatlas.org. The delivery provider processes your IP address, request time, requested address, browser information and technical response data to deliver and protect the site. The purpose and legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR are reliable delivery and protection against abuse. Without connection data, the site cannot be delivered; there is no obligation to visit.

GitHub, Inc., United States, documents its processing, retention criteria and international transfers in the GitHub General Privacy Statement (https://docs.github.com/en/site-policy/privacy-policies/github-general-privacy-statement). GitHub is the source and publication service; files delivered directly by GitHub are subject to its hosting practices.

Cloudflare, Inc., United States, processes connection and security data for delivery and protection. Its Data Processing Addendum (https://www.cloudflare.com/cloudflare-customer-dpa/) describes processor obligations and transfer safeguards, including standard contractual clauses; its privacy policy (https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/) describes its own processing. Processing may occur outside the European Economic Area. Cloudflare also sends browser network-error reporting headers (https://developers.cloudflare.com/network-error-logging/); supporting browsers may report failed connections to Cloudflare.

The atlas application keeps no server logs. Its deployment configuration does not add Web Analytics, Logpush or an application database. Provider retention depends on the applicable service, security events and configuration; no fixed provider deletion period is asserted here. Any additional analytics, security cookies or logging must be reflected in this notice before they are enabled.

    Contact and public information

When you contact the operator, your contact details, message and necessary correspondence are used to respond and handle the matter. The basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for correspondence, or Article 6(1)(b) for contractual requests. Email uses the operator's Microsoft 365 mailbox; post can pass through the authorized recipient named above. See the operator's contact-processing details (https://timo-fahlenbock.de/datenschutz), including providers and transfers.

Correspondence is kept for handling the request and any applicable legal retention or claims period. For this mailbox the operator publishes a usual maximum of 12 months for resolved simple inquiries, with longer retention for legally relevant correspondence.

Public records about people are drawn from the sources linked beside each claim. The editorial purpose is to explain public positions, with scope, dates and caveats. Send corrections or objections to the contact above. Public editions and downloads may remain in circulation after a correction; contact the operator about a specific record.

External sources are links rather than embedded content. Clicking them contacts another provider, whose privacy terms apply. The atlas sends a no-referrer policy with its pages.

    Your rights

Subject to the applicable conditions, you can request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw consent at any time. The atlas makes no automated decisions about visitors with legal or similarly significant effects.

Contact the operator to exercise your rights. You can also complain to a supervisory authority, including LDI NRW, the data protection authority of North Rhine-Westphalia (https://www.ldi.nrw.de/kontakt). See GDPR Articles 6, 7, 13–22 and 77 (https://eur-lex.europa.eu/eli/reg/2016/679/oj) for the legal provisions.
